More than a volunteer match.
tekFoundation’s new membership is designed to help your organisation build lasting digital capability through the right mix of resourcing, community and practical help.
We know this isn’t just about missing or disjointed tech - it’s about having the headspace, strategy and resourcing to be successful and create sustainable change.
What membership looks like.
The right help
Scoping and matching your organisation’s needs with vetted volunteers and trusted partners in our network and supporting backfills.
Shared community
Year-round events with volunteers, charities, corporates and funders to make additional connections, share knowledge and increase visibility.
Practical upskilling
Training opportunities beyond individual volunteering projects - Learning Labs on relevant topics run by experts that are free for members.
Membership Options
Our goal is your capability. Our membership is your community.
tekFoundation membership connects your charity with skilled volunteers, partners, and a community of other mission-driven organisations. We scope projects properly, match the right people to the right work, and build digital capability that outlasts every engagement.
We’ve designed two membership tracks that cater to what level of project scoping and recruitment services you might need. Either way, both provide access to the year-round community, events, and peer learning.

Why are we shifting to a paid model?
For the last three years, tekFoundation has operated on pure passion. But to build a system that can reliably support the Australian non-profit sector well into the future, we must practice what we preach: operational sustainability. Charging a transparent annual fee allows us to provide higher-touch program management, and to nurture the kind of ecosystem that will support charities in ways that are useful beyond any one project.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
Financial limitations should never stand in the way of impact. If the fee is a barrier right now, talk to us - equity pricing and sponsored places are part of how we're building this.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A good fit for skilled volunteering usually means:
Volunteers do not receive payment or salary from your organisation.
The work is clearly scoped, with a defined outcome and a practical path to delivery.
The timing is flexible enough to suit volunteer availability.
The volunteer role adds capacity and specialist skills, and does not replace paid staff or contractors.
You can provide the context, goals, and resources needed to do the work well.
Agreed expenses are covered.
Legal, confidentiality, and intellectual property requirements are considered.
Some needs may be ongoing at the charity level, but the volunteer role itself should have clear boundaries, agreed expectations, and a finish point or review point. If the work is urgent, business-critical, or effectively requires ongoing capacity, it may be better suited to a paid or hybrid model.
-
An initiative is based on a clearly scoped, standalone workstream, not on the number of meetings or volunteers involved. Examples include:
Rebuilding a donations page to optimise user journeys.
Cleaning up CRM data and creating a reliable reporting dashboard.
Refreshing an entire website to integrate a new brand layout.
Developing an internal AI workflow or automation to slash admin time.
Producing social media content for a specific campaign or setting up a content strategy and calendar.
Conducting a comprehensive UX, SEO, and visibility audit with implementation support.

Introductory calls, high-level triage, or general mentoring without a defined output
If an initiative naturally expands beyond its original boundaries, we will always pause and collectively decide how to categorise it before moving forward.
